Mental Attitude: People Don’t Like Humblebraggers. 
Humblebragging is a term used to describe when people want to brag about their accomplishments but do not want to come off as a braggart, so they use words that are meant to seem like they are still being humble. In a new study, researchers surveyed 646 people regarding their feelings about humblebragging and found that most of the respondents preferred pure boasting over humblebragging because it seemed more honest. The survey also showed that in general, humblebraggers are less liked and less trusted than other people.

Health Alert: E-Cigarettes Gateway to Smoking Among Teens. 
Experts report that 90% of adult smokers had their first cigarette before age 18. In a new study, researchers found that nonsmoking teens who use e-cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, or tobacco water pipes appear more likely to start smoking tobacco cigarettes within one year. Senior author Dr. Benjamin W. Chaffee writes, “In the last few years, research has focused on the potential of e-cigarettes to engage never-smoking adolescents in tobacco use… Our findings confirm that the use of the full range of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, cigars, tobacco water pipes, and smokeless tobacco, is associated with greater odds of future cigarette smoking.”

Diet: Avoid These Foods to Reduce Colon Cancer Risk. 
A review of health data concerning more than 121,000 people found that those who ate the most inflammatory foods— processed meat, red meat, organ meat, refined flour, and sugary beverages, for example—were 37% more likely to develop colon cancer and 70% more likely to develop rectal cancer than those who consumed a diet rich with anti-inflammatory foods like green leafy vegetables, dark yellow vegetables, and whole grains.

Exercise: Is Using a Sauna as Good as Exercise for Heart Health? 
After just one 30-minute sauna session, middle-aged adults at risk for heart disease experienced a reduction in blood pressure, increased arterial elasticity, and an elevated heart rate similar to what would occur during a 30-minute exercise session. The findings suggest that individuals who are unable to exercise due to physical limitations could benefit from sauna use.

Chiropractic: Sleep Quality and Fibromyalgia. 
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain along with other associated symptoms. Sleep quality questionnaires completed by 326 fibromyalgia patients revealed that nearly all (92.9%) of participants suffer from a sleep disorder. The researchers also observed a relationship between poor sleep quality and more intense symptoms of pain, memory failure, moodiness, excessive anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. The findings suggest that improving sleep quality in patients with fibromyalgia may reduce the impact of their other symptoms on their overall quality of life.

Experts from the Food and Drug Administration report that about 48 million patients seek care for food poisoning each year in the United States alone. Though the symptoms of food poisoning can vary based on the type of germ involved, they are likely to include the following: abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, and possible fever.
